WEEE Directive, Waste Management (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulation 2005

The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulation is explained below:

Free take back
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) must never be placed in your waste disposal or recycling bins. Consumers can recycle their old waste electrical and electronic equipment irrespective of whether there is a contribution to PRF(Product Recycling Fund) displayed free of charge in the following ways, either through their retailer or at their local civic amenity site. When you purchase electrical goods and electronic equipment from Lifes2good we can take back the items that you are replacing. Take back is on a one-for- one basis only, the appliance being returned must be of a similar type or have performed the same function as the new item purchased. For example, we will not accept a hair dryer where you have purchased an Emjoi Micro Pedi from Lifes2good. The old product must be ready for collection and cleaned.
How do I organise free takeback of my item?
We can collect WEEE items within 15 days of delivery of your new product, simply call us on 1890 20 08 33. Alternatively you can take the item to our premises at 7 Racecourse Business Park, Ballybrit, Galway City, Ireland within 30 days from the date of delivery of the EEE item. Local authority civic amenity facilities also take back WEEE free of charge. WEEE recycling is free.
How do I recycle my item at a local civic amenity?
Each local civic amenity must accept household WEEE and waste batteries free of charge from members of the public. Please contact your local authority for details of your local civic amenity. Local Authorities cannot charge any fees for WEEE or waste batteries.
